Why do we need the Second Amendment? Protection against a Tyrannical Government of course!

America has seen a number of mass shootings in the past year: Las Vegas. Sutherland Springs. Stoneman Douglas. In those three instances, the shooter used AR-15 platform rifles. The shooters in Las Vegas and Sutherland Springs used the high-capacity magazines which are banned in many states.  Most Americans who march against gun violence don’t believe that private citizens should own high-capacity semi-automatic rifles.  Exactly what the US Government wants you to think…

“People rising up against gun violence don’t understand what many gun rights defenders see as the heart of the Second Amendment: The defense against a tyrannical government.”

In recent debates, gun rights activists have offered a number of defenses of what gun control advocates call assault weapons, from the rifles not being more deadly than other firearms to illegalization leaving them only in the hands of criminals. The tyranny argument is often overlooked by people who assume this argument is limited to people on the extreme, militia-end of the gun rights spectrum. But it’s become common among gun owners and mainstream conservative figures.

Conservative blogger Erick Erickson said the Second Amendment, “contrary to much of today’s conversation, has just as much to do with the people protecting themselves from tyranny as it does burglars.” And Erickson believes that is the main reason gun control advocates don’t understand the need for high-capacity semi-automatic firearms.

“That is why there is so little common ground about assault rifles — even charitably ignoring the fact that there really is no such thing. If the 2nd Amendment is to protect the citizenry from even their own government, then the citizenry should be able to be armed …

You may think a 30 round magazine is too big. Under the real purpose of the second amendment, a 30 round magazine might be too small.”

For most Americans, even those who believe in the right to insurrection, the notion of rising up against the government remains a very far-fetched scenario.  Jeff Hulbert, the founder of the Maryland gun rights group Patriot Picket, was one of the people who came to the Maryland House of Delegates to voice his concern about the proposed gun control legislation.  Hulbert said there are “four boxes” that can be employed to resist the government: the ballot box, the soap box, the jury box and, lastly, the ammo box.

“Nobody I know believes that we have reached the end of the line for the four boxes,” Hulbert said. “We’re at the level of fear-mongering when we talk about the tyrannical overthrow of a government because our election cycles have seemed to work pretty well.”

People… Think about it…

California Democrats Prefer Criminals Over Legal Gun Owners…

In a move that absolutely defies the slightest semblance of logic, the Democrat controlled California State Senate passed a measure that will lower the sentences for felons who used a gun in the commission of their crimes.  Yes, you read that right.  They are reducing sentences for criminals using guns.  These are the very same Democrats that constantly create and pass stricter and stricter gun control laws, and who constantly scream, cry and whine about how guns are bad.

Sen. Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) said he introduced the bill after a 17-year-old riding in a car involved in a drive-by shooting was sentenced to 25 years in prison even though he denied shooting the gun.

A criminal denied committing the crime for which they are in prison?  Is this moron serious?  Prisons are filled with people who “didn’t do it.” The bill, SB 620, passed based solely on Democrat votes.  Not a single Republican voted for it, and even some Democrats were not stupid enough to pass this ridiculous bill.  This bill just furthers California’s continued (idiotic) approach of going soft on crime, which started with AB 109, followed by Prop 47, and most recently topped off with Prop 57.

Hillary’s destructive leadership, a Navy SEAL’s perspective…

Friends, this is an interesting perspective of HRC’s leadership qualities written by a former Navy SEAL Brandon Webb.hillary-nyt

Hillary Clinton represents everything that is bad and needs to be changed about politics in America. She has made a career out of manipulation, character assassination (on the women who slept with her husband), and an orchestrated schizophrenic foreign policy (at best) that has contributed to chaos in the Middle East, which has resulted in a massive human rights crisis dumped on Europe in the form of refugees.

Trump or Hillary.

Bankruptcy, divorce, and aggressive tax write offs I’ll trade for character assassination, not accepting responsibility in crisis (see Benghazi below), a flawed foreign policy record, and perhaps worst of all, Bill as the first lady.

I have an interesting perspective of having served in two combat zones as a Navy SEAL, a career that included five tours in the Middle East, one in Afghanistan, a mix of other Asian countries, and now ten years on the outside as a business entrepreneur and author who’s traveled extensively abroad. I’ve seen the affects of the last 16 years of Bush and Obama play out on the global chessboard, and it’s a terrible fucking mess. I give them both a fail for their participation in establishing a U.S. foreign policy that has destabilized the Middle East (giving rise to ISIS and civil war in Syria) and created a massive human rights crisis with over half a million dead and more fleeing to Europe.

Benghazi is a case study in leadership failure.

I’ll speak to this overplayed topic only because I know the story intimately and lived it first hand when I received a text from a CIA friend that my best friend was killed in Libya. I cried in a San Diego airport parking lot for 20 minutes before mustering up the courage to call his family, long before the media knew and the official knock at the door that would come.

To be clear, I don’t blame HRC for the death of four Americans (including my best friend Glen Doherty). Bad things happen in North Africa, it’s a dangerous place, the Americans that died were serving in dangerous roles, I’m sure they all knew and accepted this. It’s not what happened or why that’s important to me, it’s what happened after and that nobody was held accountable.

A good leader admit mistakes upfront, they own them, it’s the quickest way to move on and learn. A bad one shifts blame, points fingers, and covers up. The latter is Hillary to the core. She took zero personal responsibility for the security and policy failures that directly contributed to the death of four Americans under her watch as Secretary of State. Instead she spun up the well oiled blame machine, and started calling in powerful favors curated from her elite connections in Washington and the New York media.

She also told the Doherty family everything would be ok. We would come to learn very soon after she made this comment to the family, that everything would not be ok, far from it.

Glen’s body was returned to his family by the US government without even a basic allowance to bury him.  Just a few attaboys from Uncle Sam. Not one dollar was contributed by the US government to his funeral but, he was touted as a hero and used in the national press by both politicians from all sides for political gain.

His friends and I paid to give him a proper burial because the current administration would not. I’ll say it again because it’s hard to believe, “his friends and I paid for his funeral and burial expenses because we didn’t think the additional burden should be placed on his family and estate,” end quote.

It would take over four years for the CIA to finally be shamed into paying out funds associated with his mandatory life insurance policy (there was a loophole that relieved the policy from paying out upon his death).

Is this how we take care of our heroes these days?

Still Think HRC is Honest & Trustworthy? Check out ‘Clinton Cash’…

Clinton_Cash_coverClinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich is a 2015 New York Times bestselling book by Peter Schweizer, in which he investigates donations made to the Clinton Foundation by foreign entities, paid speeches made by Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the Clintons’ personal enrichment since leaving the White House in 2001.  It investigates alleged connections between Clinton Foundation donors and Hillary Clinton’s work at the State Department.  The book argues that the Clinton family accepted lavish donations and speaking fees from foreign donors at times when the State Department was considering whether or not to award large contracts to groups and people affiliated with those donors.  One word… CORRUPTION.
